I’m a little behind on my posts. August has flown by! Now it’s a class full of 8th graders, night classes to finish up graduate school, soccer games, practices with the kiddos and fall nights. Before all that jazz let’s enjoy my change in hairstyle.
Thought I’d change it up for the last month of summer with crochet faux locs. There are not a lot of salons in Utah where someone can easily get this done. However, I’m lucky enough to know a dope ass hair stylist who doesn’t charge crazy amounts. I found the hair on Amazon (again Utah does not have a large ethnic hair market) prime shipping, two-hour sit-down, and boom 💥 faux locs for the first time!
Now, I love the style been wearing it multiple ways, makes it easier to get ready, perfect for the vacation/beach. However, when I visited the dermatologist for a two-month checkup (fighting Lupus & Alopecia), my dermatologist advise me not to wear this hair style. While I thought it was a protective hairstyle, he suggested, that it was damaging due to the tension of the crowrows and weight of the synthetic hair.
I can’t say for sure that it is due to the hairstyle. However, I have noticed more spots of hair loss than before the hairstyle. 😩 Nonetheless, I love the style, but I won’t be doing it again anytime soon. I hope that one day my hair will be healthy enough again to rock it!
